Swim

Girls' Swim and Dive 2010 110 hours.
Swim has been in my life for three years. When I first began, my freshman year of high school, I had no experience with competitive swimming and didn't figure I would have much talent as beginner; however, by the time I finally reached junior year, I had not only found my strength as a swimmer in breaststroke but had also managed to place in sub-districts. My goal for the 2010-2011 season was to become an alternate for state and place in districts in the 200 medley relay.

The 2010-2011 Girls' Swim Team

Above is a picture of the swim team after our victory against Clover Park. On Fridays, after a Thursday victory, our coach allows us to throw all of the floaties into the pool for a small amount of play time. It's nice to have some time to enjoy the pool without the competitive edge. No doubt we have had plenty of victories to celebrate! We went undefeated this year!!

Warm ups for practice
Over the course of the season I did in fact manage to become an alternate for state, but I was unable to place in the relay at districts partly due to an infection in my wisdom teeth which prohibited me from swimming. Although my health complications did somewhat affect my ability to complete my goal for swim, I still managed to excel in dropping my times enough to become an alternate swimmer for state which made me happy. Swim has made me a more determined individual and for that I am thankful. I do not plan on continuing swim throughout my senior year, because I both do not intend to pursue it at the college level and would like to undertake creating my own health routine to stay in shape.
